Death Parade and how not to make an anime too long

Death Parade is one of the best anime I have ever watched in recent years. I know that that is a huge claim but hopefully I can help explain why I feel that way. As an anime fan for years, I have seen anime and manga that have been extremely long and have overstayed their welcome. Either the story begins to get tiresome or it loses some other hook that made it great. Bleach is a great … Continue reading Death Parade and how not to make an anime too long

Anime Suggestions

Recently I have been on an anime kick and I have been enjoying it immensely. I’ve always really enjoy anime and manga but my taste has always been extremely basic. Rurouni Kenshin by Nobohiro Watsuki is remarkably awesome. It takes place during the Meiji Reformation in Japan. Kenshin Himura is a rurouni, a wanderer without a home, and his fortuitous meeting with a struggling swordswomen begins to find a new home in a very different Japan. However, Kenshin’s past is that of, the legendary battosai, a legendary assassin that fought against the Tokugawa regime in the last great war. The story is steeped in actual history and while there are definitely fictional embellishments, the strong world building and character driven story are amazing. The epic sword fights don’t hurt either. … Continue reading My favorite manga
