Release Schedule: Muertos

Because Halloween is fast approaching I feel that it is only right that I give the readers on wordpress a schedule on what will be uploaded in the following weeks. Currently I am working on the second draft of my longest Muertos story, in order to improve the overall quality and strengthening the characters. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of giving me feedback on my stories. Your feedback is as important as my own critical editing and I want your help making my stories better. I believe a group process might be able to give my writing its best … Continue reading Release Schedule: Muertos

In the dark, I wake… This must a mistake…. My strength is always flagging  I feel like I am stagger-ing.. I must find the strength inside.. find the strength inside……. Failure is my master but next time I will win… My weakness…. shadow of strength… the almighty spark buried deep underneath. I will conquer my demons and seize the day…. Communicating our values part 1-3

More recently, I have understood something about myself and about current discourse that I really want to discuss. Group dynamics and how people communicate are important ideas to me, not just for myself, but for the world at large. The more ways to communicate we have, the less we seem to understand one another. It is quite remarkable how, in my lifetime, I have seen both pre internet and the internet era and how different that is. But this isn’t about digital communication for me. This is about reaching people and actually communicating. Communicating doesn’t just involve being able to … Continue reading Communicating our values part 1-3

Thesis Inspiration part 1-2

The longer I’ve been out of college the longer I have had time to wish I hadn’t lost a copy of my thesis paper. I really wanted to expand on it because I felt excited about it and felt that not only would it be helpful for others, it would help me. Call me selfish if you want, but part of the inspiration was trying to understand what made me tick more. However, to connect with others effectively, I am a strong believer in understanding yourself at some level. First of all, the basic idea behind my thesis was that, … Continue reading Thesis Inspiration part 1-2

Media Medium Analysis part 1-2

No this isn’t the MMA you are looking for -Spock probably, in Mordor.   Talk about a fun title!! Now in case the title was too vague, which it probably was, I will now explain what I mean by it. Over the history of storytelling, there have been many forms of presenting stories to prospective people, and they have been told in so many different ways. Today we probably think of the different forms of media as written, spoken, visual and combinations of such. However, it gets way more specific when we speak of comics versus novels or TV … Continue reading Media Medium Analysis part 1-2

The Mirror

We are so close yet understanding eludes me. You seem to know me but yet still are a stranger What inspires this cruel twisting darkness? My heart is warm and yet far too cold Duality I think, Duality I am. Must I hear the protestations of my weak soul Must I deal with my weakness and pitiful silence Anxiety crushing my heart like a vice You say I am not a man and I yell You say I am not a man and I protest I say I am not a man and I weep I see the tormentor and … Continue reading The Mirror

Thesis Inspiration part 2

The importance of a good teacher and positive role model, are super important and resonate with me. The importance of feeling like you are not alone and also understanding that part of growing up, is that no matter who you look up, they are human and have flaws. Dumbledore resonates with me because his flaws do not take away from how important he is to me as a character in the Harry Potter series. Honestly, his flaws make him better. Dumbledore taught me, that your flaws are part of who you are but that they are simply shadows of your … Continue reading Thesis Inspiration part 2

Muertos Update

Hey fam how’s it going!! This is my official update for my mini anthology of short horror stories I will posting on this blog. I am trying to be as careful as possible and trying to put in effort in creating a coherent and well structured group of stories. Currently, I am working on part 3 of one of them. Releasing them in parts allows me to write by the seat of my pants but also give it more time to actually feel authentic. There is a good chance that I will be restructuring earlier parts if I feel that … Continue reading Muertos Update

How I view geek culture

I am an unapologetic nerd and geek. I love video games, movies, comics, anime, and computers. However, I never really quite felt nearly at home with, well the way sometimes gamers and geeks sometimes talked to one another. Honestly, the anti feminist community has a lot of gamers and nerds. For me, as someone who acknowledges my lack of social skills and my loser status, I always felt baffled at how people treated each other. I always thought that the experiences of being social outcasts and being in tight knit groups of self-understood losers, would make one more empathetic. But … Continue reading How I view geek culture

Love of other versus love and respect

I had always been proud to be a liberal and a democrat until the 2016 election. The more I learned about politics and how it intersected with other interests that I have, I came to an interesting conclusion. There is a very peculiar type of objectification that takes place amongst the left leaning people who have power or still haven’t been hit as hard by the economy. The love of the other is, on the surface, something nice or even to be encouraged. You shouldn’t allow another person’s differences guide your attitudes or feelings. However, when you make it a … Continue reading Love of other versus love and respect

Limits of Language

I love to write and I love to read. However, language often is one of the most difficult things to explain in more concrete terms. Languages are malleable and are created for communication. Because of this languages can grow and change and this can create some fairly substantial problems. The term Orwellian, is thrown about a lot these days. It comes unsurprisingly from the infamous author George Orwell who is a fairly famous 20th century author. However, if one looks more into the man from which the word derives, you find out quickly that the man is far more complicated … Continue reading Limits of Language
